You may have noticed that this website has been subtly changing over the last couple of weeks. We now provide access for residents and shareholders in MANCO2 and MANCO3 to refer to documents and rules which apply across Poundbury. You may now also report anything amiss in your courtyard. Just go to the “reporting” tab and select the appropriate MANCO. The Management companies (MANCOs) can only deal with courtyards, but there is help in here for pointing you in the right direction for other services or assistance.
Duchy staff are arranging for 6 of the “untouched” courtyards to be stripped of all loose gravel in the next few weeks. Look out for a note through the door with dates and times. Please remove cars on the day, to enable all the material to be taken away. All the other courtyards will have revisits by the sweeper as and when possible to clear up parking areas.
It is in all our interests to keep our courtyards clean, functional and attractive as possible. Some residents live in courtyards, which is a security benefit (by design) for all of us in terms of our parked cars and garages. As part of the plan courtyards have specially selected trees and shrubs planted to maintain a reasonably attractive environment, rather than just looking like a back-yard. No one wishes to look out on upturned bins, dead shrubs, dumped cars or poor surfaces. Long term deterioration will inevitably affect property values. MANCOs are constantly dealing with these issues through enforcement of stipulations or direct discussions with residents and the Duchy of Cornwall offices.
Some residents have volunteered to offer a little time towards assisting in reporting obvious issues such as lights out, drains blocked etc, just within their own courtyard. We would like to explore this further.
MANCO directors have maps of each courtyard showing all lights, shrubs and trees which can be made available. A quick and informal inspection occasionally and a report back would be great value to MANCOs, ideally giving us “eyes and ears” in courtyards. If you would be interested in helping in this way please contact us through the Reporting Tab, and we will get back to you by phone or email whichever you wish. Ownership of our environment is the key to maintaining it in good condition.
